Worst body language

The last day in class we discussed body language, everything that our non-verbal language communicates to the people around.

We saw a video where Amy Cuddy showed us how changes in our body language also can change our attitude. Incredibly interesting and surprising!

This made me think of all the mistakes we make unintentionally, this is a compilation of those we shouldn't do:

1. Avoiding eye contact:
When you don't look into someone's eyes, this may be a sign of disappointment or disrespect.
2. Slouching:
Poor posture shows others your lack of confidence and have low self esteem or low energy.
3. Weak handshake:
A handshake that isn't firm shows lack of authority but the one that shows too much might seem aggressive.
4. Folding arms:
This stance creates a sense of being closed off and may signal to others that you are disinterested in them or don't buy into their message.
5. Looking down:
If giving a presentation, looking down while making a point, it will lose all its power and may you look weak. In everyday interactions, can make you look awkward or shy.
6. Angling Body Away From Others:
Too much distance between the person speaking and you or not leaning in the conversation shows that you are uncomfortable, distracted or disinterested in what is being said.
7. Fidgeting And Touching Hair:
Restlessness and playing with hair or clothing may reveal an excess of energy, which is a sign of discomfort or anxiety.
8. Invading Others' Space:
When you are within 1 meter of a person, treat their things or space as your own, it shows disrespect.
9. Glancing At The Clock:
Peeking at the time or even look beyond a person with whom you are speaking, communicate disinterest or arrogance.
10. Frowning:
Frowning, often involuntary and unconscious, communicates unhappiness and disagreement.

How many of you have ever done one or more of these worst body language?
Yes, I have!!

Really Amazing Presentations

Tips for Giving Really Amazing Presentations

Just thinking that I have to do a presentation I panic, even if I only have to introduce myself. So I started looking for little tips and helps to improve and maybe it can also help you.

1. Give it Focus
Your purpose and what you say should be directed to the interests of the listeners because if they get bored or not interested, they will mentally shut you down.

2. Tell Compelling Stories
You need to connect with them emotionally and inspire them to change their behaviour and thinking. The more personal and authentic, the more powerful the answer you’ll receive.

3. Give an Entertaining Performance
If there is a dynamic and changes in intonation that help your listeners to feel your passions and be entertained.

4. Use Media Only to Enhance
PowerPoint, pictures and videos are important tools for the presentation when they are used correctly, but they should never replace you as the speaker.

5. Create a Worthy Leave-Behind
Give them something to remember you by.

I hope it helps you all!
