Interview 2

I recently had the chance to talk to some entrepreneurs about what they look for in potential employees. Here I leave one the interviews I did to Josep Maria Escoda, a man that has taken the reins of a familiar business and has made what it is today a successful alimentary wholesale distribution chain.

Name: Josep Mª Escoda Tarragó
Employment: Chief and manager in Distribucions Escoda S.A.

What do you look for in a new employee?

The capability to realize a job, personal disposition in behalf of the business and the development of required tasks.

What do you focus in during an interview?

In the honesty of the answers, not faking or decorating their reply. Basically the fact that the person answers what he/she thinks I want to hear and not really saying what he/she is thinking.

How important is the Curriculum Vitae to you?

I give significance to the fact that the person has worked in other companies active in the same sector related to the job that we offer, and that the position in which that person has developed his/hers functions successively can become improvements in the workplace.
We also care about the period of time that person has work in the same business. If he/she jumps between jobs very often it’s not something we are attracted to.

How important in the new employee’s attitude in the interview and in the job to you?

The attitude that we look for in a new employee in the interview is basically the honesty and the burning desire to get the job. The attitude in the workplace has to correspond to the attitude shown in the interview.

Interview 1

I recently had the chance to talk to some entrepreneurs about what they look for in potential employees. Here I leave one the interviews I did to Mercedes Bruned, a business woman that has made a career in the field of art as a restorer of cultural property.

Name: Mercedes Bruned Gil
Employment: Manager in GAM Restauració SCP

What do you look for in a new employee?

Involvement.

What do you focus in during an interview?

If she/she can listen and pay attention and in which moments do they speak or intervene in the conversation.

How important is the Curriculum Vitae to you?

I find it indicative, I don’t expect the best CV but I do look for duration and continuity in campaigns, where and with which entity.

How important in the new employee’s attitude in the interview and in the job to you?

I like that the person demonstrates that he/she is eager to work and learn. I can’t stand people that think that they are the best in what they do, usually those are the ones that don’t listen or know how to work in a team, don’t get the tasks done in time and create a slow work environment.

Part4. Writing Skills

http://katenasser.com/
Communication skills are not limited to direct interaction with other people and the spoken word.

The ability to be able to write clearly and effectively is the key to communication, this skill set should not be limited to journalists or professional writers. Poor written communication can be frustrating for the reader and potentially damaging to the author - would you buy a product from a website with spelling mistakes? - not only for students, these are the skills you need so you can learn, communicate their ideas and understand the ideas of others more effectively.

Part3. Personal Skills

Personal skills are the skills we use to maintain a healthy body and mind. Developing your personal skills can help with any communication process. For example, improving self-esteem and confidence can help you feel more positive about yourself and your skills; how you look and how you behave can influence the perception others have of you, which in turn affects communication.

During times of stress, or when we are angry, we can communicate less effectively. By having a deeper understanding of self and a more relaxed and positive attitude of life we will be more likely to have a charismatic attitude.
